In keeping with the approach of providing neutral, objective professional
workplace services, Mundy McLaughlin conducts workplace investigations
and provides mediation services specializing in human
rights, equity and workplace fairness issues. She brings perspective
from management, labour and government backgrounds including experience
as an Ombuds for a large public organization. She has overseen the
development and oversight of policies and processes to manage harassment
issues for over 10 years, and was an innovator in implementing policies
that covered harassment and poisoned work environments outside the
scope of human rights legislation. She holds a certificate in investigative
interview techniques from John Reid and Associates and in Mediation
from the Stitt Feld Handy Group. She has pioneered an approach to
mediation that combines traditional principles of alternative dispute
resolution with solution focused methods emerging from social work
in order to answer the needs of emotionally charged workplace conflicts.
Her approach is to consider workplace conflicts as an opportunity to promote understanding and fair treatment of all parties in workplace disputes, and to learn from these experiences to gain a deeper understanding of human rights and equity issues and their impact on employees, managers and organizations.
Mundy also provides confidential, objective advice
to workplace parties to assist them to determine their rights and
responsibilities and develop a pro-active approach to workplace issues.
For example - she has specialized expertise in the accommodation of
disability, religion and pregnancy and can assist workplace parties
to find accommodation solutions. She also provides workplace
restoration services following an incident, investigation
or mediation to assist the parties to maintain a positive work environment
going forward.
